Welcome Ms. Cottrell!
For students enrolled at Elmwood Elementary School, there will be a new face in the building this year. Let me briefly introduce you to your new principal: Cara Cottrell! Ms. Cottrell joins us with 25 years of experience in education, even more if you count her rich family history that includes multiple generations of teachers. For the past eight years, she served as principal of Rainbow Elementary School in Clintondale Community Schools where she successfully built robust relationships and strong academic environments that not only helped students, but also directly benefited the teachers and staff.
Ms. Cottrell is a perfect fit for our district and Elmwood Elementary. She exemplifies our values of collaboration, embracing individual experiences and perspectives, and providing our students with an excellent academic experience. She wants students to be competitive and thrive in today’s world. She is a dedicated educator with a passion for making a difference, especially when it comes to helping students— as well as teachers and staff— meet their potential.
