The International Baccalaureate Learner Profile

The learner profile is at the heart of the PYP.

Learner profileThe IB learner profile is the IB mission statement translated into a set of learning outcomes for the 21st century.

The profile defines the characteristics of students who are aware of and sensitive to the experiences of others.

It also describes a set of characteristics that, when worked toward, will help our students to be internationally minded in order to succeed in the rapidly changing world.

In addition these characteristics create a profile of the PYP learner, which helps teachers and students establish goals, plan units of inquiry, and assess performance.
The learner profile is continued throughout the IB Middle Years and Diploma Programmes.
