Instead of selling a product, the Elmwood PTA decided to have a different kind of fund raiser for the 2008-09 school year - a Walk-a-Thon.  To say the least, it was a great success.

Dr. Jalkanen sporting his new pink hair.  The Elmwood principal agreed to "do the do" if the kids raised at least $5000!

Each student at Elmwood was asked to collect pledges, with the goal for each family to earn $30 in pledges. The last count shows over $4,900 raised!

Students, parents and staff walked, jumped and danced their way around the designated course on the school field.

100% of all money earned will fund all the wonderful events that the school hosts through the year such as Family Reading Night, Family Fun Fest, Birthday Books, Bingo Night, Elmwood Scholarship, Skating Party, Holiday Raffle, Ice Cream Social and, in addition, helping teachers with Field Trips, and Wish Lists for the betterment of our children.
